Iron Goddess of Mercy Loose Leaf Tea

This delicious Oolong hails from the Taiwanese hills. With a large beautifully twisted leaf, the tea is authentically crafted, producing a smooth and rich infusion that is naturally sweet, with hints of roasted chestnut.

Legend has it that this unique infusion is named after the Goddess of Mercy Guanyin. A rundown temple in her honour lay deep in the heart of the Fujian province. A poor farmer named Wei would visit every week endeavouring to keep the temple clean and tidy as a mark of respect - one day Guanyin bestowed a treasured tea plant upon him in thanks for his dedication. Wei nurtured the plant and discovered that it produced the heavenly liquor. Sharing the cuttings with his village, they all prospered and the temple was restored to its former glory.
